Match Report:
The Train's encounter against Bracknell was our 10th fixture of the 2024/25 season in the East Berkshire Football League, with the team competing in the EBFL League Cup, a cup competition featuring all teams within the EBFL. This was our second encounter against FC Bracknell this season, having won 6-5 on the opening day in EBFL Division One.
The game was 0-0 until Kie Longmate conceded a penalty to give the hosts a 1-0 lead, before another couple of goals extended their lead. At 3-0 down the Train started to improved and scored our lone goal in the 32nd minute when a Leo Pereira cross was headed onto the bar by Obeydah Abdulwahab, and then swept home by brother Ilyas, for our lone goal.
The second-half saw us lose Jamie Halsall in goal due to an injury, and with just the 11 players conceded another 5 goals in a leggy performance as Bracknell advanced to the next round of the competition. Best of luck to Bracknell in the League Cup!
Did you know?: The goal scored by Ilyas Abdulwahab was the first time a goal and assisted have been provided by brother's, with Obeydah Abdulwahab teeing up the goal with a header against the crossbar.
